View Practice Tools and Tips (Tour of my Practice Kit)
Here’s some tools and tips for practicing.
My Practice Kit has been a work in progress for a year or so and is an attempt to mimic the size and shape of my acoustic kit. So basically, I’m practicing on a quieter version of the same thing.
Most of the kit is made up out of the DW Go Anywhere Practice Kit (White Pads). I wanted a really nice pad for the snare so I have the Vic Firth 12″ Double Sided Pad (love it so much I also want to get the 6″ version of this pad).
The Hi Hat Pedal and Crash Cymbal Pads were made by my Dad. Years ago we were trying to build our own electric kit experimenting with different materials and piezo sensors. Don’t really bother with the electronic side of things anymore though.
As you can see, I’m very much running out of space in my tiny box room at home so this it is an ideal solution for my space issues as well as neighbour troubles.
Please excuse the video quality. High quality videos coming soon...

The pads are soft enough to be quiet but hard enough to feel nice. In my experience, the harder black pads tend to be louder. I tried this one out against a few other models in the shop and it felt the most realistic, can’t remember what the other kits were though.
Hope this helps mate
