There is now a new page giving a beginner’s guide to rudiments under the “Education” section of the web site.
It dawned on me that I do not have many educational materials for beginners up here yet and the wealth of rudimental material found on this web site and the large number of possible combinations may seem a daunting task for beginner drummers. So I have created this new page as a very easy, introductory guide to drum rudiments for beginners either encountering rudiments for the first time or attempting to improve their knowledge in this area. I have aimed to create a very simple view of all rudimental groups as well as showing the easiest rudiments for beginners to get started with.
Also, for the more advanced players, I have completed my guide to the 40 PAS Rudiments and have started on my Hybrid Rudiments Glossary, plus a list of standard rudiments that are not featured in the 40 PAS Rudiments that I’m calling the “Other Rudiments” page as well as the new Rudiment Encyclopedia which I eventually intend to be a free online guide to every known rudimental pattern ever!
