Had to post this nifty little trick I picked up from Jojo Mayer. The right hand may look a little strange here but I'm muting the snare while playing the hi hat and rim clicks. I'm also pressing the stick into the snare which causes a slight overtone when you hit the hi hats. Towards the end I am muting the snare on and off which changes the pitch/timbre slightly.
Check my first snare muting video out too, I'm applying the same idea to drum n bass/jungle beats. Ah the possibilities are endless lol.
Left hand wise its mostly Gladstone Technique for the singles, doubles and press/buzz rolls.
The kit I'm playing has sadly seen better days. Its the practice/teaching kit at work and its in dire need of some new skins. But hey, a bad workman blames his tools.
