Here's a clip of me playing a Quintuplet beat I wrote recently that was inspired by George "Spanky" McCurdy. Check him out if you have not already, he and Chris Dave are among the most inventive drummers I've ever seen!

The hand pattern is a left handed paradiddle followed by four single strokes leading with the right hand. This is a particularly tricky one as not only is it written with a Quintuplet rhythm but it also leads with the left hand!

The kit I'm playing has sadly seen better days. Its the practice/teaching kit at work and its in dire need of some new skins. But hey, a bad workman blames his tools. I'm attempting to make a good sound on this kit, despite its faults, guess I like a challenge lol! I find kits like this help me make an even better sound when I get to play my nice Yamaha/Zildjian.
